CCA Code of Conduct

Code de conduite de la CCA. Members agree to these expectations as a condition of membership.

The Canadian Canyoning Association is a developing not-for-profit. This Code of Conduct sets the expectations for members while the Association builds its programs, standards, and partnerships. Last updated: 18 August 2026.

Respect for people

Treat other members, partners, land managers, Indigenous communities, and the public with respect. Harassment, discrimination, and unsafe pressure on others to take risks have no place in the Association.

Respect for place

Canyon environments are sensitive. Members support low-impact travel, responsible access, and the Association’s environmental values.

Safety and honesty

Do not overstate skills, certifications, or the Association’s authority. Recreational and professional practice should match training, conditions, and judgment.

Collaboration

The CCA is built through consultation. Members contribute in good faith, keep confidential board matters private when asked, and represent the Association accurately.

Accountability

Membership is subject to Board approval and may be reviewed if conduct is inconsistent with this code or the Association’s bylaws.
